Milwaukee is a very vibrant, bustling sporting town that has a very rich sporting history.  Both professional and colligate, along with armature and recreational sports are all thriving greatly moving full steam ahead.

Of the Big five professional sports, Milwaukee has three, or four. The NFL’s Green Bay Packers are no longer located in Milwaukee, but hundreds of thousands of fans here still support them. As we all know, sports fans do not have rigid geographical boundaries. If the team you love moved a hundred miles away, you do not abandon them, you may even buy more of their paraphernalia. The Packers are therefore the  default NFL team for the region.

We said “?”The Big Five” because Soccer is included. It is the world’s number one sport, with payrolls larger than many NBA and NFL teams. The upside for soccer in the US is great.

As far as the NHL goes, it is just a matter of time before a franchise comes to Milwaukee. Yes, Just a matter of time. There is vibrant, rabid hockey base in this region, and someone will feed that beast soon.

However, with all of that said, at this moment, the Milwaukee Bucks, the city’s NBA team is at the top of the basketball world. It is entering the post season with the NBA’s season best record. No one saw that coming. Therefore, the road to the NBA Championship goes through Milwaukee. All the best to the bucks, and all of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is a Major Sporting City

When it comes to sports, Milwaukee is definitely in the major leagues with two professional sports teams – the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, which competes in Fiserv Forum, their new, best-in-class arena; and the Milwaukee Brewers professional baseball team, which offers one of the best tailgating experiences in professional sports at Miller Park, a few miles west of Downtown Milwaukee. A third professional team – the NFL’s Green Bay Packers – isn’t technically located in the region, but it has very strong ties to the region, having played three games a year here from 1953 to 1994 and many residents still have season tickets (plus their home field is only two hours away). Milwaukee is also home to the Milwaukee

Admirals professional hockey team and the Milwaukee Wave professional soccer team. 

Milwaukee is a great college town as well, featuring two Division 1 NCAA basketball teams – the legendary Marquette Golden Eagles, which play in the Big East Conference; and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Panthers, which play in the Horizon League.

The Milwaukee Torrent is a professional American soccer team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team was founded in 2015 and played their inaugural season in 2016. The team plays in the National Premier Soccer League, a national semi-professional league

Milwaukee Bavarian SC is an American soccer team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. Bavarian Majors of the Bavarian Soccer Club compete in the United Premier Soccer League. The team plays its home games in the athletic stadium at the Heartland Value Fund Stadium.
